Recently the retirement of professional wrestlers became a hot topic. The major “Ric Flair’s Final Match” event drew a lot of attention, as Flair stepped into the ring one last time – with not so great results. Now, it’s wondering who will have the next big retirement match. One name who has come up is Booker T, the two time WWE Hall of Famer. Booker T isn’t keen on getting back into the ring – but would step up for one of those lovely WrestleMania paychecks.
Booker T Would Get Back Into A WWE Ring For WrestleMania Match With Edge
While speaking on his “Hall Of Fame” podcast, Booker T would reveal the match that would get him to work one final match within WWE. He’d be quoted saying the following.
“If they were to ask me to do a Wrestlemania match with Edge, of course I would do it. I don’t think there’s anything on their radar or anything like that. I don’t have any itch to scratch as far as getting back in the ring or anything. But you know me guys. I’m all about that paper, baby. You know, that WrestleMania check was always good. Always good. You know, so, I would love to step back in the ring if the situation was right. I heard Baron Corbin calling me out. You know, Sami Zayn is out there doing some stuff. There are certain guys I would love to do some stuff with, but they better be able to take care of me more than anything.”
Edge & Booker T previously wrestled a match at Wrestlemania 18 – over a Japanese shampoo commercial. Perhaps the rematch would be for a German conditioner commercial instead. Booker T has remained fairly active as a trainer for the Reality of Wrestling promotion, which sees him step into the ring on an infrequent basis – never really entering a full fledged retirement. His final match as of the time of writing was on July 9th, in a big multiman tag match for Reality of Wrestling.
