‘Keeping Up With The Kardashian’s alum, Kim Kardashian is opening up about the impact her relationship with ex-husband, Kanye West had on her celebrity status.
During a chat with Interview editor-in-chief Mel Ottenberg for the September 2022 American Dream issue, Kim talked about the moment she realized she “arrived in high society.” “I mean, when I was with Kanye, and he was introducing me to a lot of people, I think that definitely got a lot of people to have a different level of respect,” she shared. Kim and Kanye started dating in 2012 and tied the knot two years later.

However, Kim filed for divorce in 2021. The duo share North, 9, Saint, 6, Chicago, 4, and Psalm, 3. Kim said that her relationship with Kanye isn’t the only thing that gained her newfound respect. “I’ve also seen a s— more recently — going to law school, just doing what I want and becoming my own person and people seeing that and respecting that. There’s levels to it,” she added.
Kim also had nice things to say about her comedian ex-boyfriend, Pete Davidson. When Ottenberg made a BDE joke and suggested the comedian as a future Interview cover star, Kim responded, “He’s a cutie.” She went on to say that, “He’s literally such a good person, they don’t really make them like him anymore. I’m excited for what he has coming up.”
Kim and Pete first connected when they had their first kiss during a sketch on her SNL hosting debut in October, 2021. Later that month, the duo were spotted holding hands on a roller coaster at Knott’s Berry Farm. Pete later went on to confirm their romance to PEOPLE in February 2022, calling the mother of four his girlfriend. Last month, they ended their romance. A source shared with PEOPLE that “Part of the reason they split was because of their busy schedules. They both travel all the time and it was hard.”
