It’s not often we criticize ‘Days of Our Lives’ (DOOL) as it’s often the most entertaining soap opera on, but Peacock “Days of Our Lives” Spoilers have been noticing more plot holes lately and the Clyde Weston (James Read)’s storyline is, well, botched is the best way we can think of describing it.
We love murder mysteries in Salem because they have so many twists and turns and we often don’t expect them to end up where they do.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: DOOL Badly Botched Clyde Weston’s Storyline
But there’s always the possibility for writers to get too caught up in creating moments that they lose track of simple things like continuity and a believable story.
To be clear, we hope they have a solid and believable reason for Clyde to become a knife wielding bad guy after working so hard to prove he’s a changed man. If they don’t, fan reaction won’t be pretty.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Plot holes
One of the things we’ve been noticing for a few months that wasn’t happening as frequently a year ago are plot holes.
Whether stating there’s no evidence from security cameras to capture Kristen DiMera (Stacey Haiduk) threatening Chloe Lane (Nadia Bjorlin) to there magically being some to Abigail Deveraux (Marci Miller) telling Chad DiMera (Billy Flynn) “they” attacked her, the number have been building up.
Normally, a plot hole happens and it’s nothing major, like someone goes to the wrong school or something that happens years ago is forgotten or rewritten.
But these are important ones as they’re directly related to major storylines and will have major complications for anyone watching and not forgetting what was said or done.
In Clyde’s case, Peacock “Days of Our Lives” Spoilers mentioned previously that Clyde had to have a partner in this if he had an alibi, and it looks like they’ll probably tie it to Milo Harp (George DelHoyo) having it hacked in what amounts to the weakest way possible if they even remember the “they attacked me” comment.
‘Days of Our Lives’ Spoilers: Why?
The biggest problem many have with Clyde suddenly going hardcore bad is why? He’s worked so hard to move forward with his life and make his son proud, so why would he attack Abigail?
Was it a robbery? Was he after EJ DiMera (Dan Feuerriegel) because he was viewed as a threat despite not being one? If it was a case of mistaken identity, why did Clyde not leave?
To be honest, only the EJ angle could work, but again they had an understanding and EJ really wasn’t a threat to him. It was done and over with.
And then why would he attack Sonny Kiriakis (Zach Tinker)?
Then the fact it takes a new arrival to the police force notice the footage of Clyde fishing was off is just pure laziness on the writer’s part. This is they type of writing that can lose fans.
Clyde’s no angel, but it feels like they’re throwing away his redemption story instead of having another commit the crime due to intoxication or drug induced hallucination story that could’ve added more weight overall.
Granted, it was out of necessity instead of recasting Abigail’s role with a third actress and the hastiness shows.
We hope they have a very good and reasonable way of explaining Clyde’s actions. They usually do and we’re giving them the benefit of the doubt, but the fans in general aren’t appreciating this turn in things.
Why do you think Clyde attacked Abigail and then Sonny? Let us know in the comments below and check back with Peacock “Days of Our Lives” Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
