Elon Musk admitted that he had a private chat with Kanye West in the aftermath of the rapper’s alleged anti-Semitic post.
Elon Musk Admits He Spoke To Kanye West Following His Alleged Anti-Semitic Post-‘I Think He Took It To Heart’
The Tesla CEO has struck up an unlikely friendship with the musician, which has even seen Musk attend one of Kanye’s concerts. And as the pair do tend to get on, Musk was on hand to offer some support in light of the rapper’s recent controversy.
The backlash in response to his White Lives Matter top led Kanye to post the following words that were deemed anti-Semitic: “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE.
“The funny thing is I actually can’t be Anti Semitic because black people are actually Jew also. You guys have toyed with me.”
Kanye subsequently received condemnation from various stars, such as Jamie Lee Curtis and Sarah Silverman. In addition, the Holocaust Museum in Los Angeles has allegedly invited Kanye so that they can reach out and bridge the gap.
Much in the same way, Elon attempted his best to diffuse the flames of discontent. However, it appears that Kanye may not have taken things all too well.
In his comments, Musk stated the following: “Talked to ye today & expressed my concerns about his recent tweet. which I think he took [it] to heart.”
It is not clear what Elon had said, nor the response that Kanye may have given. But one thing for sure is that the fans on social media had a clear stance on the matter. As a result, they did not have a positive view of Kanye and Elon.
This was on the basis that Musk had also been involved in controversial comments in the past, such as apparently comparing Justin Trudeau to Adolf Hitler.
One person wrote: “Huge asshole counseling another huge asshole on how not to be a huge asshole. Perfecto!” Time will tell if Kanye did take Elon’s advice on board.
