Back at Money In The Bank, Liv Morgan would win the titular ladder match – before cashing in her contract on Ronda Rousey later in the night. Since then, she’s managed to hold onto the Smackdown Women’s Championship, and hasn’t always gotten cheered in the following months. Despite this, Morgan remains happy – and doesn’t mind being viewed as a polarising figure in WWE.

Liv Morgan Is Okay With Being Polarising Like John Cena Was

While speaking with Metro, she would be asked if she is okay with being recently booed by some members of the WWE Universe. Morgan would have the following to say.

“It’s ok! I understand the reaction in a weird way, so I didn’t take it personally, necessarily. The funny thing is, in wrestling, in WWE, all you want is a reaction. So, even though it maybe wasn’t the desired reaction, it’s still polarising. As long as we’re getting a reaction, I’m ok! And I’m still champion, so I’m more than OK!”

Comparisons to John Cena would be brought up in response, and Morgan is more than fine following the footsteps of Cena.

“He’s the best of the best, who’s considered the ultimate babyface, went through years and years and years of ‘Let’s go Cena, Cena sucks’. So, if that’s how I’m treated, I will be ok with that!”

Getting Emotional After Winning The Belt

Following her victory of the Smackdown Women’s Championship, Morgan was incredibly emotional. She would speak on this during the same interview, having the following to say.

“It’s funny because I feel like I’ve been very emotional. People call me a cry baby but I wear tears on my face, I’m not trying to hide it! But when I won the title, I did not cry. I was so overwhelmed with emotion that I kind of just… I finally did it, and it took me a while to let everything sink in. I feel like winning Money In The Bank was enough. To cash in the same night and defeat Ronda Rousey to become SmackDown Women’s Champion, that was a whole other thing! It took me a while to let everything sink in.”

Morgan will defend the Smackdown Women’s Championship at Extreme Rules against Ronda Rousey in an Extreme Rules match. Will she remain champion? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
