This past Saturday at Halloween Havoc, we’d see Wes Lee finally claim singles gold in WWE. He has had a rough year, with the rug pulled out from underneath him during his second reign as NXT Tag Team Champion. But now, as the NXT North American Champion – he will address the fans who never turned their backs on him, and perhaps find his first challengers.
Before he’d hit the ring, we’d hear from the man formerly known as T-Bar. Simply put – the second coming isn’t about Retribution, it’s about justice. He’s burned his previous persona to ash, and will be rising again. Dominik Dijakovic is coming back to NXT, and champions like Wes Lee need to watch out.
R-Truth Gets Challenged To Match Next Week On NXT
Lee would thank the fans of WWE for supporting him this long, and admitted he never imagined he’d make it to WWE – let alone become a champion. When he was lost in the dark, the unwavering devotion of the fans kept him grounded. Winning the NXT North American Championship gave him the validation he needed, reminding him that he belongs, he is loved, and he was right to follow his dreams.
Lee got the chant of “You Deserve It” when he sat on top of the ladder, and that made him emotional. He intends to continue to exceed expectations, but before he could continue – Grayson Waller would make his way to the ring. Waller hated his Saturday, and hated Halloween. Lee would say he’s just salty that he lost at Halloween Havoc, but Waller still thinks he won.
Randomly, R-Truth would make his way to the ring dressed as The Joker – singing What’s Up before hitting the ring. No one know what he was doing there, but he knew where he was – he was dressed and ready for Halloween Havoc! He was ready for the spookiest night of the year… but Waller would bring him back to reality saying it was three days ago.
Truth would not believe this, but would believe Lee – who had proof of the night with the title. When Waller was asked how he did, the crowd and Lee let him know he lost. Waller would say he was rolled into a casket, and that was it – before challenging Truth to a match for next week on NXT.
Following this segment, Apollo Crew would indicate that next week – he’s ready to step up and challenge NXT Champion Bron Breakker. This was his original goal in NXT, and is ready to be champ.
Shotzi Blackheart Takes Down Lash Legend
During Halloween Havoc, we’d see the NXT return of Shotzi Blackheart as a host. This was well received by fans, but not all the talent in NXT – as Lash Legend would stomp to the ring and try and take her down. Shotzi would be able to fight her off, and now tonight – for the first time since her call up at 2021, Shotzi is back in the ring for a match in NXT. Legend is a hard hitting competitor in the ring, but Shotzi won’t go down without a fight.
Shotzi rolled to the ring in her signature tank, but in the ring – Legend would hit a knee strike before throwing Shotzi across the ring. Legend would look for a scoop slam, before Shotzi slipped free. A choke over the ropes would follow, but as Shotzi tried to get back into the ring – she’d take a boot to the face.
Back in the ring, Legend would hit a body slam, getting a one count. Stretch Muffler would be applied, but Shotzi would be able to fight to the ropes and get free. Shotzi would get caught in the corner, but would strike her way free before a Never Wake Up DDT for the finish.
Should Shotzi stick around in NXT? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.
