Recently, fans of WWE would be shocked to find out that former NXT Women’s Champion Mandy Rose would be released. Just hours after dropping the belt to Roxanne Perez on the latest episode of WWE NXT, Rose would find herself no longer a part of the company. This came after she pushed the envelope too far with her OnlyFans style content, and has led to some backlash against WWE. Even Kevin Nash feels this was a step too far in WWE with their ‘independent contractors’.
Kevin Nash Speaks On Mandy Rose Firing
While speaking on the Kliq This podcast, Nash would speak on the release of Mandy Rose from her WWE contract – and related it back to Vince McMahon.
“It comes down to the absolute loss on a daily basis of more and more freedoms. It’s known that WWE contracts include a morality clause, something Rose may have violated, but her promoting her personal site was nothing new to WWE. They couldn’t look past her more recent content, thus the abrupt title change and firing.”
When Vince McMahon would be brought up by Sean Oliver, in regards to the morality clause – Nash had the following to say.
“It wasn’t like he was filming the sex acts he was having. That was between consenting adults. I think it’s apples and oranges. If she’s her, and I guarantee you the check that gets paid to that person is not to the wrestling name.”
Nash would finish with the following.
“I think that’s the thing. You’re either an independent contractor or you’re not.”
Mandy Rose Is Making Even More Money Following Her WWE Release
As far as financially, Mandy Rose will be fine. Unless she was making main roster level money in NXT, she was likely making more money from her out of the ring business – which only got a boost following her WWE release putting her in the headlines. It’s unclear if Rose will return to the ring for another promotion. Gigi Dolin & Jacy Jayne remain in WWE NXT, with a bright future ahead of them as a tag team in WWE.
