WWE has a strange situation on their hands. The tag team division on Smackdown has so many teams and so much potential to show out in 2023. On Raw, the tag team division is almost none existent because of the lack of Tag Team Champions. Here are three trades that could freshen up the divisions.
The Street Profits (Raw) for Hit Row and MMM (Smackdown)
I know, I know. This is barely a fair trade but hear me out. If WWE is planning on keeping the Street Profits together, why not move them to the brand with more tag teams on it.
The idea behind this is to get the Street Profits on the show with the better tag team division while Raw build theirs up. This also plays into why Raw would want both Hit Row and the Male Models.
Sure, the two Smackdown teams may be looked at as “jobbers” but they can be used to get whatever teams Raw get in the future some wins.
The OC (Raw) for The Brawling Brutes (Smackdown)
This is a trade that may give Monday nights their new franchise tag team for the future. Let’s be honest for a minute. The Brawling Brutes are over as heck on Smackdown. This is a big thanks to Sheamus.
Sheamus is a singles star that I think will win the Intercontinental title soon. He doesn’t technically need the Brawling Brutes in the same way that AJ Styles don’t need the OC.
I think that this might be a win for both shows.
Alpha Academy (Raw) for The New Day (Smackdown)
This is another trade that may seem unbalanced. I think that the New Day is going to spend most of their year in NXT working with the young guys and getting them ready for the main roster.
By the time that they come back, I think that they will be fresh and still be loved by everyone.
The Alpha Academy, on the other hand, does get reactions from the crowd and if they keep this team together, I think that they should turn them babyface and give them a run.
While I love them as a heel team, being the fall guys and butt of every joke is gets old quick when it happens to the same team every week. I think that they could have a big breakout on Smackdown.
