Roman Reigns has been the top WWE champion for over 800 days and his runs could be close to ending if internet rumors are true.
There have been plenty of rumors and discussions about what could happen at WrestleMania 38 with Roman Reigns, with the most popular one being he’ll face the Rock after the Rock wins the Royal Rumble.
There have been reports that WWE Creative are discussing the possibility of Reigns losing the Universal and WWE Championships separately in different matches.
This news comes from Xero News on Twitter, where they stated:
“Seen People speculating
“As reported previous there is current internal discussions to have Roman work both Mania Nights.
“He may go into the Rock Match not as Undisputed Champion”

Could Reigns headline both nights?
With WrestleMania four months away, there’s still plenty of time for the WWE to work out their plans, but if Reigns is going to drop both titles in separate matches, it stands to reason he’ll headline both nights.
It’d make sense for him to main event both nights given he’s got both titles, but there’s always the possibility that another match will headline night one instead of him, or he could have two matches in the same night.
The latter seems like a stretch, but anything’s possible.
The one thing that seems to be for certain is it’s been reported the WWE will split the titles up for the draft, which is scheduled to take place after WrestleMania.
If he does lose one title on night one, we’re curious who that’ll be to and which title it’ll be.
Who’s next?
There are plenty in line with Drew McIntyre waiting in the wings, but since Triple H has taken over he seems to be relegated more to the top mid/lower main event card for whatever reason.
Though after the WWE blew his moment at Clash of Champions to win a championship in what would’ve arguably been the top moment of 2022, him having a legitimate WrestleMania moment with a crowd would go a long way to rectify that.
The WWE will need a legitimate champion if they intend for the Rock to win on night two. We love the Rock, but having a extreme part timer as champion isn’t the way to go.
Plus, it’d continue the Vince McMahon era message of telling the locker room none of them are good enough to win.
