One of the most shocking moments of WWE in 2022 was the reveal of Cody Rhodes wrestling a Hell in A Cell match with Seth Rollins despite a torn pec. He would take off his ring jacket, and soak in the gasps of the fans as they saw the giant bruise on his chest. Despite this, he would win the match before being attacked with a Sledgehammer the following night on Monday Night RAW by Seth Rollins – writing him off TV. He’s announced his intentions to return at the Royal Rumble – and his wife Brandi Rhodes thinks he’s ready.
Cody Rhodes Is Ready To Make His Return
While speaking with Steve Fall on Ten Count, Brandi Rhodes would speak on the plans for her husband Cody Rhodes to make his return to in-ring action at the Royal Rumble.
“As far as wrestling is concerned, for me the most intriguing story is Cody trying to capture his dream. It’s been so fantastic except for the injury portion, but It’s just been really great to see him reconnect with this audience, kind of be completely welcomed back home coming back to WWE, and for them to have his back in this journey. It’s really, really fun to see and I’m excited for him to get back.
All of the work that he’s been doing to get back has been really good. I went with him to his physical therapist yesterday to finally see, because he’s been ragging on me the entire time, ‘you haven’t come, you haven’t come.’ So, l’m like ‘Okay, I’m coming to see’, and I was really impressed with how he looks now. He doesn’t look like anything happened, which is crazy because he had major surgery so he looks like the same Cody to me. The muscle mass is all there. He looks ready to me.”
Right now, Cody Rhodes is the favourite to win the 2023 Royal Rumble match – and is expected to main event WrestleMania 39 against Roman Reign as a result. If plans change, a fourth match with Seth Rollins is expected instead.
