‘The Young and the Restless’ (Y&R) Spoilers are curious where this storyline is going, and we think it’ll be interesting before it’s said and done.
With all of his other attempts to manipulate his son into rejoining the family, Victor Newman (Eric Braeden) is going to do everything he can to ensure Adam Newman (Mark Grossman) fails so he has no choice in crawling back to ask for forgiveness.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Why Victor Letting Adam “Drown” is Good for Adam
The fact everyone around him seemingly fine with Victor destroying a life to get his way is disturbing but expected.
Even Nikki Newman (Melody Thomas Scott) has learned to take the path of less resistance in siding with him on everything and only speaking up when he goes a little too far.
But this should be a good thing for Adam.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Turning the page
Adam has never been part of the Newmans as he’s either tried to take Victor or his company down, and when he tried to play nice he was nothing more than a pawn Victor used to keep his other children on their toes.
And now that Victor wants Adam to hit rock bottom so he begs to come back, it could be Adam’s chance to fully break away.
He’ll be able to sever any ties to Victor and let he and his family live their own lives, but Victor won’t let him.
Since it looks like Adam gets his money from the family, we assume Victor will cut off his cash. Adam’s a survivor and will figure something out, and that’s when Victor will make some calls to ensure no one will work with Adam.
In the end, Adam will be forced to reinvent himself into someone that’s completely independent of Victor Newman. He may even have to leave Genoa City to make it happen.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers: Putting the brakes on
Unfortunately for Adam, the writers won’t allow Victor to lose, so there’s a chance this won’t work like Victor intends, and instead forces Adam back into his old ways of trying to take down or kill Victor.
This is where they have a chance to really show some character growth for Adam and have him resist that urge and focus on creating a new life for himself despite Victor’s attempt to force him back into the family.
‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers have felt for the last couple of years the writers have been building toward the Newman children overthrowing Victor because of his controlling antics, but they always pull back and play it safe.
This is the perfect chance for the writers to begin moving the show away from Victor dominating everything and having to be the hero by showing his children can do it on their own without him.
Will Adam be allowed to break away, or will he revert back to his old ways? Let us know in the comments below and check back with ‘The Young and the Restless’ Spoilers for the latest updates, spoilers, and speculation.
