If Conor McGregor is good at something, it is at promoting his fights. As he has been inactive in the octagon for a long period, he had all the time in the world in his hands for hyping and promoting his next fight. Since the long-awaited comeback is most probably coming this year, Conor McGregor already started making statements about his future opponent.
The mad Conor McGregor took to social media on Thursday to warn his future opponent that he is going to destroy him, regardless of whom will it be. “I’m going to slice through someone on return. Trust that. And I don’t care who. Line up.” – Conor McGregor tweeted.
Conor McGregor Is Confident He Will Slice Through His Next Opponent
Conor McGregor’s comeback fight is one of the most anticipated UFC fights in the history of the sport. He has been out of the fighting scene for long 18 months after breaking his leg during his fight against Dustin Poirier at the UFC 264. UFC and MMA in general, have to give merit to Conor McGregor for a lot. He is the single most popular UFC or MMA fighter in the world by far. He is responsible for making the UFC as popular as it is today. And that’s why the promotion loves and respects him. Needless to say, in addition to all of this, he is the greatest money earner in the UFC.
However, many MMA fans are arguing that Conor McGregor’s shine has worn off a long time ago. He doesn’t have a single win in the octagon since 2020 when he TKO’d Donald Cerone at the UFC 246. The Notorious Conor McGregor has lost 3 out of his 4 last fights. And this is not something that is helping him at all.
But, Conor McGregor is not the quitting type. He is hinting at the upcoming comeback with incredible confidence and improved physique. Recently he is into the limelight due to the evident physical improvements of his body. He also dropped out of the USADA testing agency and sparked steroid rumors. He does everything in order to stay in the limelight.
As a result of all his bulking and building mass, Conor McGregor will now return to the octagon as a welterweight. Rumors are that he will fight Michael Chandler and try to score his first win in a while.
Before any of this becomes true, Conor McGregor needs to complete 6 months in the USADA testing pool. So hypothetically speaking, if he is to enroll in the USADA again in January, we can expect his fght to happen in June.
