WWE Raw Results returned as they recapped Dominik Mysterio being arrested over the holidays, and him saying how time inside changes a man. It’s almost not hilarious how he sells it.
United States Championship – Austin Theory (c) vs. Seth Rollins
Introductions were made, and we’re ready for this match to get going. It’s going to be a great one.
After going for a test of strength, Rollins hit a kick and locked in a headlock, but Rollins threw him off into the ropes and hit a Slingblade, then sent him to the floor with a clothesline.
Rollins took it too him on the floor and draped him over the barricade to hit a knee off the announce table.
In the ring, Rollins hit a knee off the ropes and Theory rolled to the apron, where he hung up Rollins and hit his own dropkick for a pin attempt.
Theory continued his assault verbally and physically as he sought to wear down Rollins and demonstrate he’s in control with a rear chin lock.
Theory missed a stomp and Rollins hit a jawbreaker, but Theory dumped him to the floor by a back drop and went after him.

Turning it up
Rollins fired back with a couple of clotheslines that sent Theory to the floor for a breather, but Rollins got the crowd fired up and hit a dive.
After an attempted Pedigree and hitting a backbreaker, Rollins was thwarted on the top rope when Theory grabbed him, and they exchanged moves and blows before Rollins rolled him up for a pin attempt.
Theory headed to the top rope, but Rollins caught him with a superplex and went for a second suplex after Theory countered it tonto a neck breaker for a near pinfall.
They traded kicks and strikes that left both men down. The ref checked on them and Rollins clutched at his knee, and it could play a role in the end of the match.
Rollins fought out of a Pedigree attempt and went for a Stomp, but he stumbled due to his injured knee and Theory headed to the floor. He grabbed the US title and tried to leave through the fans.
Rollins ran after him and drove him back into the ring where he caught him with a superkick when Theory went to hit him with the belt. Rollins then hit a frog splash for a near pinfall.
Theory sent Rollins into the ref, knocking him out. Rollins hit a Pedigree, but he was slow in making the cover as another ref ran out but Theory kicked out.
Theory hit a low blow when the ref checked on the other ref, then hit a chop block and a A-Town Down for the win.
This was a great match with plenty of back and forths before Theory managed to pull it out to get his new year started right.
