With it being cemented that The Rock won’t wrestle his cousin Roman Reigns at WWE WrestleMania 39, there were some who believed that it would be perceived as a snub by WWE. After all, the company is in Dwayne Johnson’s neck of the woods for this PLE.

Is The Rock Not Wrestling at WrestleMania 39 Viewed as a Snub by WWE?

Rumors began to trickle out that the WWE weren’t pleased with the decision. Mind you, the rumors that The Rock would be Roman’s WrestleMania challenge came about after the booking saw The Tribal Chief steamroll each contender.

Things had reached the point where the most obvious opponent for Reigns was The Rock. It’s the match most fans wanted and became invested in with Sami Zayn being another desired bout.

However, it appears that there was never any beef between Johnson and WWE. Of WWE’s crossover stars, The Rock is probably the busiest and definitely in high demand. Factor in his businesses and other projects, it makes sense that The Great One bowed out of WrestleMania 39 after admitting that he wouldn’t be able to get into in-ring shape for a match.

Also, WWE didn’t have plans for The Rock to wrestle at the event anyway. Mind you, if he said he was able to get in shape, WWE would’ve wedged him into the event somehow and even given him some build-up heading in.

Johnson Would’ve Had to Speedrun the Road to WrestleMania

That’s the main thing here: timing and the plans leading up to Royal Rumble. Johnson could’ve easily been a surprise entry in the Rumble and his build could’ve been done in February and March.

Once Cody Rhodes was good to go, he looked more like the eventual challenger given WWE could invest more time with no rush into the Road to WrestleMania.

That isn’t to say we shouldn’t expect The Rock at WrestleMania 39 at all or in a match at a future WM event. It’s just that this time, it was never actually considered and there’s The Rock isn’t on WWE’s sh** list for sitting this one out.

Did you ever believe there was hostility towards The Rock for not wrestling on WrestleMania or did it make since for him to not be booked? Let us know down below!
