Joe Rogan is deep into conspiracy theories about shadow-banning, suppressing, and intentionally not showing posts on social media. He is confident that shadow-banning is a thing that happens all the time, and this time, he is sure that social media has turned against him.
On a recent episode of the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, the host spoke about the politics of social media. Seems like the revealing leaks of information by Elon Musk and the ‘Twitter files’ opened the podcaster’s eyes, convincing him that shadow-banning is a regular thing on social media.
Joe Rogan Complains That Instagram Shadowbanned Him
To be honest, at this point in time, anyone that doesn’t believe in shadow-banning is not keeping up with the times. Social media companies have been using shadow-banning and censoring since the very beginning. The reasons behind a potential shadow ban could be various. Politically incorrect posts, insults, controversy, and misinformation –are just some of the reasons why one could receive a ban.
In a recent episode, Joe Rogan and Dave Portnoy spoke about the negativity of social media. The podcaster explained how having a huge number of followers doesn’t correlate with the reach of your postings. One can have a massive number of followers. However, the number of people that will actually see your post will be just a tiny fraction of your followers list.
Dave Portnoy told Joe Rogan that he experienced this on Twitter. Allegedly, the social media company shadow-banned him because he was speaking out against repression in social media. Joe Rogan on the other side told how he is currently experiencing a shadow ban on Instagram.
“Yeah, I don’t complain about that sh*t, but I’m definitely aware. My Instagram used to move way more quickly. Then something happened a while back, where it slow down by a significant margin the amount of growth. I’m like; how do you complain when you have 16 million followers? Like do you really complain that somehow another is suppressed or am I really suppressed? Or maybe it’s because I’m not doing reels.” – Joe Rogan told his guest.
The podcaster is thrilled to know the reason behind the drop in his post reach. He demands an explanation from someone in the business, as he thinks that what is happening is highly inappropriate. He doubles down on his claims as he tells how sure he is that numerous celebrities are victims of this shadow ban. Many of which are completely unaware.
Joe Rogan told another conspiracy. He said that he believes governments are in total control of social media. The reason behind this is to lower the reach of celebrities that seem to spread information that doesn’t go along with the government standards.
