Joe Rogan is usually the one who is responsible for the post-fight interviews in the UFC, especially when the promotion has a fight card featuring sounding names of the sport. The UFC color commentator has been in the UFC for a long time, and as such, people presume that he has an understanding of the sport and of the scorings.
However, at the UFC 282 event, Joe Rogan went and told Jan Blachowicz that he lost the fight. He came to Jan Blachowicz off the mic and opposed the judges’ decision. He thought that he knows better than them. Jan Balchowicz found himself in the thrill of the last round (which he lost) and took Joe Rogan’s comment for granted, thus confessing to Magomed Ankalaev that he should have won.
Joe Rogan Told Jan Blachowicz To Confess He Lost The Fight Against Magomed Ankalaev At UFC 282
UFC 282 turned out to be one of the most confusing and controversial UFC fight cards in recent history. Having this in mind, the judges gave the main fight of the event a draw. As a result, the UFC light heavyweight title is still vacant.
During the post-fight interview with Joe Rogan, Jan Blachowicz publicly confessed that Magomed Ankalaev won the fight. However, as several days passed by, the polish mixed martial artist changed his opinion. He blames Joe Rogan for the wrong influence on his perception.
“First of all, that’s what I told Rogan after the fight, to give Ankalaev the belt. I said that because I only remembered the last round.” – Jan Blachowicz told Sherdog in a recent interview. “That was the worst round for me. Also, Joe Rogan came to the octagon and said, ‘You didn’t win this fight.’ So, okay maybe they’re right? But no. When I watched this fight, I was closer to winning the fight than him.”
In the post-fight interview, Jan Blachowicz told Joe Rogan several times that he feels like he needs some time to clear his head. Those who watched the fight know that the Polish warrior took some serious damage in the last round. This might have played with his head a little bit. However, when taking the whole fight into consideration, Jan Blachowicz may have a point now. Even Joe Rogan agrees that he should have not made those comments in the post-fight interview.
“The telling thing is Blachowicz thought he lost the fight, at the end of it Blachowicz said, ‘Give him the belt.’ Obviously, he had just been through a fight, he’s not thinking clearly.” – Rogan told after the event.
What do you think? Was it a fair judgment?
