It appears that there will be some quick changes to the WWE 2K23 roster with the most notable being the absence of Scarlett, the manager and wife of Karrion Kross as a playable superstar. The decision to remove Scarlett comes as news of Kross being displeased with his run on the main roster.

Scarlett is an integral part of Kross’ entrance and character—they’re something of a package. The two were in NXT from early 2020 until late 2021 with Kross winning the NXT title twice. In their first run, there were issues with his creative direction. Now it seems as though those issues are a hinderance to this second run.
Although Scarlett has been removed as a playable character, that doesn’t necessarily mean she’s not in the game. While there hasn’t been any indication that she will be featured in the game, it’s still possible she will be an AI-controlled manager like Paul Heyman being in the game or any manager/valet in previous wrestling games. There’s also the possibility that she could be playable as DLC later down the line.
Until then, fans of the WWE 2K series who were spoiling to play as Scarlett might be better off hoping for a quick turnaround on a community creation version. On that note, most of the other changes involved renaming wrestlers such as Los Lotharios members going from Angel Garza and Humberto Carrillo to just Angel and Humberto as well as some last minute additions such as Johnny Gargano.
WWE 2K23 drops March 14, 2023 and will feature the video game debut of the WarGames match!
