Since 2014, Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler has been one of the best tag teams in the world. Put together in WWE NXT by Triple H – they would win the NXT, RAW & Smackdown Tag Team Championships in WWE, before their release in 2020.
After that, they went to All Elite Wrestling – winning the AEW, ROH, AAA & IWGP Tag Team Championships. Having worked under the likes of Vince McMahon & Tony Khan – FTR know the big bosses in wrestling well, and know how Vince ruled WWE for so long.
Vince McMahon Ruled WWE Through Fear, Triple H Is More Receptive To Ideas
During the FTR With Dax Harwood podcast, Harwood would describe working under Vince McMahon in WWE from 2017 to 2020. Harwood had the following to say about Mr. McMahon.
“Vince leads through fear. I think he enjoys that. He enjoys being the alpha male, he enjoys people being afraid of him. I don’t think Hunter really wanted to rule with a sword, he wanted to rule with an iron fist and wanted people to respect him. Vince wanted to scare people into respecting him.
When it comes to how working under Triple H is different – Harwood said the following.
“Triple H is more receptive to your ideas. We can bounce ideas off of him and there were plenty of times when I did. His ideas always came with a great reason and it made sense.”
Harwood would recently make it clear that FTR were never ‘Triple H guys’ during their time in WWE NXT, despite being booked as dominant champions by Triple H.
Where Is FTR Going To Spend The Rest Of 2023?
Right now, we don’t know what is next in professional wrestling for Dax Harwood & Cash Wheeler. Their deals with All Elite Wrestling are set to finish soon – and the stage is potentially set for them to leave the company.
An upcoming match against The Gunns for the AEW World Tag Team Championships has the added stipulation that if FTR lose – their AEW career is over.
Fans will be watching this match very closely, as it will reveal if FTR are stickling with AEW or returning to WWE. They’ve proven themselves as perhaps the top tag team in professional wrestling today, holding three sets of tag team championships in 2022.
Wherever they land – they are going make the most of 2023 – and whoever stands in their way will realize why they are top guys.
