When it comes to the monster heel archetype in professional wrestling – one figure stands above the rest. In 1997, we would see the debut of Kane – the storyline brother of The Undertaker. Quickly, he would become one of the more iconic characters of the Attitude Era, and would remain an active wrestler for WWE all the way until 2018. Since then, his appearances have become more sparse – but Kane has not closed the door on his professional wrestling career.
Kane Will Never Close The Door On An In-Ring Return In WWE
During an interview with PWInsider, Kane would be asked about the chance of wrestling one last match – and he’d have the following to say.
“I’ll always leave that door open. In WWE we never say never. I don’t know what will happen. I do some stuff here and there in the WWE. That’s a part of me and it’s something I enjoy and want to do for the rest of my life. If it’s something in the ring, I don’t know. Maybe you have to ask Kane that question.”
Honored To Be In The WWE Hall Of Fame
The last times that Kane has shown up in WWE have included a Royal Rumble entry in 2021, being inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2021, and showing up at Summerslam 2022 to announce the attendance figure. When it comes to being put in the Hall of Fame – Kane had the following to say.
It’s the pinnacle of what we do. There aren’t that many people in it. To be honored like that with people I watched, and idolized as a kid growing up like Hulk Hogan, Ric Flair, and of course Undertaker, Shawn Michaels, and Bruno Sammartino, it’s hard to believe that I’m in there too. It’s hard for me to think I belong in that group. It’s a tremendous compliment, and still, even now it’s almost surreal to even think about.”
