WWE is no stranger to bringing in celebrities for their major events. Looking all the way back to the 1980’s and the creation of WrestleMania – Mr. T was right there in the main event. However, in the past few years, we’ve seen several names enter the WWE ring with outside fame, and raise the standard.
The likes of Johnny Knoxville & Logan Paul come to mind – but Bad Bunny was the man who set the new standard. Initially coming into WWE for a tag team match at WrestleMania 37, he would stun fans with his performance – and has kept coming back for more.
Bad Bunny Puts In The Work, And Has Earned The Respect Of Big E
One man who respects the hard work that Bad Bunny puts into WWE is former WWE Champion and New Day member Big E. While appealing on the Battleground podcast, Big E had the following to say about Bad Bunny.
“I’m not knocking any celebrity who comes in, takes a paycheck, and does what they’re asked, that’s fine. But you can tell with him, it’s so much more than that. He’s a guy who truly loves this. I think pro wrestling was his first love and grew up watching WWE. For me, it’s so dope and amazing to see someone like him, who is a massive, massive star, and comes in so humbly and so energetically to do what we do. He’s come in and worked incredibly hard and his passion for this. I saw an interview, I think it was for Carpool Karaoke, where he said the WrestleMania match, I think he described it as ‘the best day of his life.’”
Bad Bunny will be in the ring next month as part of Backlash, with the show taking place in Puerto Rico. He is expected to team with Rey Mysterio to face Damien Priest & Dominik Mysterio in the main event. Other matches set for Backlash include Cody Rhodes vs. Brock Lesnar, Seth Rollins vs. Omos, and Kevin Owens, Matt Riddle & Sami Zayn vs. The Bloodline.
