The National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences (NATAS) recently announced the 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards nominations.
When the list came out, ‘Days of Our Lives’ star, Victoria Grace who plays Wendy Shin was nominated for Outstanding Younger Performer in a Daytime Drama Series.
Fans saw the soap opera actress announce and celebrate her nomination. However, her excitement has been cut short. Now, the actress is sharing news with her fans why she will not be taking home the award come June 16.

Victoria Grace took to Instagram to share the sad news, writing, “I was honored to be nominated for a Daytime Emmy and to be recognized by the Academy.
Unfortunately, there was a huge misunderstanding across the board regarding the rules for this year’s category. “This is obviously a surprise, and I am heartbroken, but in fairness to all, I’ll be rescinding my nomination,” the ‘Days of Our Lives’ star continued. “I wish the best of luck to all the nominees.
I will continue to work hard to learn another Daytime Emmy nomination next year!” However, she did not share more details on the communication breakdown.
‘General Hospital’ Takes the Lead
ABC’s ‘General Hospital’ takes the lead with 19 nominations, followed by fellow long-running soaps CBS’ The Bold and the Beautiful, bagging 14 nominations. and ‘Young and the Restless’ with 13 nominations. NBC/Peacock’s Days of Our Lives also landed 11 nominations.
The four shows are also gunning for the marquee Daytime Drama Series prize. The Kelly Clarkson Show takes the lead in the talk field with 11 nominations. The Drew Barrymore Show and freshman The Jennifer Hudson Show also bag seven and six, respectively.
The 50th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards will take place on Friday, June 16. CBS will air the show while Paramount+ will stream it live at 9 p.m. ET as well as in the West at 9 p.m. PT. On the following day, the Daytime Creative Arts & Lifestyle Emmys will be presented.
