Her acting career began in 1964 when she was featured in Alfred Hitchcock’s psychological thriller, Marnie. She also played guest roles in television programs such as Wagon Train, Ironside, Code R, and Fish. Scott also played some small roles in feature films such as The Beguiled, Posse, and The Shootist.

Melody Thomas Scott tied the knot with prolific daytime executive producer Edward Scott in 1985. The couple share a daughter, Elizabeth. They have also raised two; Jennifer, Edward’s daughter from a previous marriage, and Alexandra Danielle, Scott’s daughter with late makeup artist Carlos Yeaggy.
