Lately, WWE has been able to get some massive celebrities into the ring. While a lot of the focus has landed on Logan Paul after his epic matches with Roman Reigns & Seth Rollins – Bad Bunny has been better received by fans.
Originally showing up for a tag team match at WrestleMania 37, Bunny would not simply take this match and go on his way. He’d show up in a Royal Rumble, then set up a singles match with Damien Priest in their home country of Puerto Rico – and created magic. Bunny will never forget that night.
Bad Bunny Will Never Forget His Singles Debut in WWE
During an interview with Zane Lowe on New Music Daily, Bad Bunny would look back on that night in San Juan – having the following to say.
“Wow, that was insane. That was really crazy. The people, the energy was another level. What happened that night, I’m never going to forget it. I remember, I said before the WrestleMania fight that day was one of my favorite moments of my life, but the Backlash fight in Puerto Rico was another level. It was really one of the biggest and best moments of my life, I really enjoyed that fight.
I suffered. Yeah, I got hurt. I got hurt. My back. My whole body, bro. My whole body. I felt that I was going to die after that match. I really thought that I was going to die after the match, but it’s part of it. I was prepared then, and now I’m going to drop a song. I know. I’m a crazy guy. I love it. I love it, and that’s what matters.”
It was one of the best celebrity matches in WWE history, with the hot crowd really pushing it to a new level. Bad Bunny will have a hard time topping that night, with it likely being the peak of his time in WWE, both in general and on a personal level. If WWE returns to Puerto Rico, Bunny will likely find himself in the mix again – but sometimes magic can’t be recreated.
