Last night was a special night for WWE fans in Puerto Rico. During Backlash 2023, we would see Bad Bunny defeat Damien Priest in a San Juan street fight – with this match containing plenty of chaos.
Coming to the aid of Bad Bunny was the Latino World Order, Savio Vega – and the biggest surprise with the return of Ruthless Aggression star Carlito. Carlito was a particularly big shock – and looked fantastic, potentially setting up a proper run in WWE in 2023.
Carlito Impresses In WWE Return – Potential For Contract
Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful would report the following information. Carlito was brought in for one night only, but his reaction from the crowd and on social media has turned some heads within WWE. Many noted how much he has matured during his time away from WWE, and there are now potential plans for more appearances.
At 44 years old, Carlito remains in fantastic shape – having stayed active on the independent circuit since his WWE release many years ago.
He remains a fan favourite to this day, and one more big run on the WWE roster could cement his Hall of Fame status once he retires. WWE has almost run out of Attitude Era names to bring back – but the Ruthless Aggression era is now old enough to mine for nostalgia.
We have already seen MVP return and get a major return run, and Carlito could be next. Another name who fans hope to see back in WWE is Chris Masters, a contemporary of Carlito & MVP who has not even appeared in a Royal Rumble match over the past few years.
If Carlito is sticking around for a while, we will likely see him appear on RAW or Smackdown over the next week for a proper try out match.
Considering his alliance with the L.W.O at Backlash, he could be joining Rey Mysterio, Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, Santos Escobar & Zelina Vega on Smackdown Live.
