“General Hospital” Spoilers here and we’re set to kick off a new week with plenty of fun weekly spoilery goodies to share.
Things are going to become even more self righteous and pious in Port Charles this week as the quest for the informant to the SEC continues on all fronts.
They’ll be helped by Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros)’s guilt and Ava Jerome (Maura West)’s puppeteering skills.
Let’s dive into some spoilers!
“General Hospital” Spoilers: Building a defense
With their backs against the wall, Drew Cain (Cameron Mathison) and Carly Spencer (Laura Wright) will look to the only way to defend themselves, and that’s to find and discredit the source that called the SEC on them.
Their hope will be that the SEC wouldn’t have learned about their law breaking otherwise, and if the source is discredited then they hope to take away how the SEC learned of it and have the investigation halted.
Of course, the SEC can say they would’ve discovered it anyway, but not knowing Carly and Drew were an item would make that difficult.
And with their friends and family having no problem in lying and being corrupt while condemning others, like Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard), for his business, “General Hospital” Spoilers have little doubt they’ll get away with it.
“General Hospital” Spoilers: Under the gun
Adding to Carly and Drew’s defense will be long time ally Olivia Falconeri (Lisa LoCicero) as she’ll almost mockingly question who besides Ned Quartermaine (Wally Kurth) would turn them in.
She’s really big on saying she’ll stand by her husband, but we don’t think she’ll give him the benefit of the doubt in the slightest until she sees concrete proof of Ned’s innocence.
Given she’s a patron member of the Cult of Carly, is it really surprising? At this point, it doesn’t matter what Ned says or does, he’s guilty until proven innocent in her eyes.
And when he is proven innocent, she’ll act like he should understand her stance and he’ll probably cave because that what lazy writing makes happen.
“General Hospital” Spoilers: Ava tries to keep Nina on course
Nina is far from perfect, but she does admit when she screws up. Her conscience won’t allow her not to, and it’s going to be eating away at her big time to the point she may come clean with Sonny and hope their love will carry them through.
We don’t think it will, and Ava will know that as she’ll try to keep Nina’s eye on the prize. In a interesting twist, Ava comes across as a puppet master.
She gave Nina the urging to turn Carly and Drew in to eliminate Carly, and is now working hard to keep Carly in trouble and protect Nina.
There’s the chance that Ava’s being straight up with Nina from the start and is looking after her best interests. Obviously, this doesn’t absolve Nina of what she did, but the blurred line makes this a fun side quest.
Unfortunately for Ava, she may not be able to override Nina’s guilt forever, and unless she’s always at Nina’s side we expect the truth to come out sooner rather than later.
