Seth Rollins’ Role in Captain America: New World Order Could Cost Him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

The WWE has been really pushing Seth Rollins leading up to his match against AJ Styles at Night of Champions for the new World Heavyweight Championship.

We’ve gotten to see a series of interviews as Rollins has done a great job making himself championship ready and make it apparent it’ll be a crime for him to lose the championship.

Seth Rollins’ Role in Captain America: New World Order Could Cost Him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship

Just like they did with Brock Lesnar, Drew McIntyre, Kevin Owens, Sami Zayn, and Cody Rhodes. We’re sensing a pattern here, and while Rollins deserves another championship run, so does Styles.

It looks like the WWE is building Rollins up for a heartbreaking loss as they’ve done previously, but the main difference is they’re not after Roman Reigns’ title with the Bloodline waiting to bail him out when he’s about to fall.

    More than one reason

While it looks like the WWE is up to their usual build and burn storyline for a championship runner up, there could be another reason Rollins may not win.

There’s been plenty of fan speculation about Rollins winning the title since it’s meant to be defended regularly and there could be scheduling conflicts.

This past week, Rollins was spotting in costume on the set of the new Captain America: New World Order movie shooting in Atlanta, Georgia.

This is speculation since his casting hasn’t been confirmed by Kevin Feige or Marvel in general, but based on his look he’s playing a member of The Serpent Society.

Without an official announcement, it looks like his role will be a minor one.

The WWE has a long history of having their talent cross over into Hollywood movies, and they’ve generally given them time off for it usually through a storyline injury or something along those lines.

It’s hard to imagine the WWE not putting the belt on him given he’s one of the company’s most popular among fans, and if the role is a small one there’s a chance he’ll be the inaugural champion.

This doesn’t mean he’ll win as the names we mentioned above were enormously popular at the time and fans have grown weary of Reigns needing constant help to keep his title.

Since it’s a new title, this could mean a new beginning, which means Triple H could snap the current trend that’s make the WWE title scene extremely predictable.

Plus, the shooting schedule may be over before the Night of Champions Premium Live Event so it shouldn’t interfere, and the movie is slated to come out on May 3rd, 2024 so there will be plenty of time and chances for Rollins to defend it if he wins.

Who do you think will be the World Heavyweight Championship? Let us know in the comments below.
