UFC commentator, former two-division champion, and Hall of Famer Daniel “DC” Cormier believes fellow veteran Jim Miller simply hasn’t done enough to earn a spot in the Hall of Fame. Cormier discussed Miller’s longevity in a recent episode of DC & RC, in the wake of Miller’s highlight-reel performance at UFC Vegas 74 this past weekend.
“It makes me feel bad, because … I’m of the other side. I tap out, bro. I don’t feel, RC, like time served immediately puts you in the Hall of Fame. Look, he’s got more wins than anyone else. I love Jim Miller, and this makes it hard for me, but I just don’t feel like time served puts you in the Hall of Fame.

RC, there’s an offensive lineman in the NFL right now that played 20 years. Is that guy going into the Hall of Fame just because he played 20 years? It doesn’t work that way, RC. You have to have accomplishments to go into the Hall of Fame.”
Jim Miller, despite his 42 Octagon appearances and 25 UFC wins, has never held a UFC title. Miller also boasts the most wins and finishes, at 22 and `5, respectively, in the UFC lightweight division.
Cormier’s co-host, former Super Bowl champion Ryan Clark, made an opposing argument, singing Miller’s praises. “Jim Miller’s popularity and hype is not what Cowboy Cerrone is, but Cowboy Cerrone is going to be a Hall of Famer. I think he might be going in this year, and so is Jim Miller.
The one thing about the UFC being new as an organization is there are so many ways people are going to get into the Hall of Fame, and I believe that Jim Miller, with his amount of fights and his amount of wins, and the dude still has knockout power, which is what we saw on Saturday.”
Jim Miller, now aged 39, has competed in the UFC since 2008. He made his debut at UFC 89, and has since faced a who’s-who of the UFC lightweight elite.
Despite his longevity, power, and conditioning, Miller was never able to put together a significant winning streak. At an age far beyond the one where most of his colleagues consider retirement, and a title never likely to materialize for Miller, one wonders what the UFC veteran’s next move will be.
