Seth Rollins is finally back on top of the WWE mountain, having claimed the WWE World Heavyweight Championship earlier this year. However, while he has found himself in the crosshairs of the likes of Cody Rhodes & The Judgement Day – they aren’t the biggest threat to his reign. That lies in his body, which has some nagging issues – which Rollins has been avoiding surgery to fix.
While speaking with recent rival Logan Paul on the Impaulsive podcast, Rollins would reveal the following about his physical condition.
WWE’s Seth Rollins Has Been Fighting To Avoid Surgery Since 2019
“My knee’s been bugging me since before WrestleMania. I was having issues with that. My neck been acting up, my lower back has been at me since 2019. Probably should get some surgery on that but trying to just do whatever I can to make sure I don’t need it because I have a couple of stress fractures back there.
So I tried some stem cells. I’ve done a couple of stem cell treatments and I found that they were temporarily helpful, and I wasn’t taking time off so I wasn’t just idling while I was on the stem cells. I was still working pretty much a full-time schedule with WWE so I found that temporarily helpful, but long-term, it kind of had faded off a little bit so I’d say I got about maybe four, five months of, oouuu, okay, alright.”
Seth Rollins is no stranger to missing time due to injury, with his first reign as WWE Champion cut short by a massive knee injury. That set the tone for the rest of his career, forcing him to change up his in-ring style upon his return. Rollins has also become better at protecting himself following that injury, so unless something goes wrong – we are unlikely to see his reign end with a vacant championship.
Rollins will defend the WWE World Heavyweight Championship at Summerslam 2023 against Finn Balor. Also looming is Mr. Money In The Bank Damien Priest – who can cash in his contract for a title match any time he chooses.
