On September 8th, WWE will be running a major show in India – as they finally realise Superstar Spectacle. While Roman Reigns will not be in action, WWE has a very suitable replacement set to show up for this show. 16 Time World Champion John Cena is coming back, and will be wrestling in India.
John Cena Is Finally Going To Wrestle In India
After WWE announced that John Cena was returning to WWE on September 1st for Smackdown Live, Cena would follow up with the following on Twitter.
“Cannot wait to reunite with the WWE family live on Smackdown! Especially excited to meet the WWE Universe in India and wrestle for the FIRST TIME EVER in India. The time is NOW…. C U all VERY soon!!!”
Given the massive popularity of Cena in India, it’s shocking he’s never wrestled there. WWE has never had the global schedule they’ve wanted even with live events, which is something Triple H is hard at work changing for the next generation. Having Cena on board for this show will be huge, and should help move tickets and drive up interest.
Will Fans Be Able To Watch This Show Outside Of India?
However, fans outside of India might not be able to see this show. It’s currently not listed as a Premium Live Event – and is only set to be televised within India. This will mark the first time since 1996 that WWE has ran shows in India, making it a major deal – and the energy of the crowd should be insane as a result.
WWE has a few more weeks to sort out all the details in regards to the show, but it’s currently just looking like a big house show. If they can start streaming these major shows that are held in countries like India or Japan – it will make for some fantastic special events on WWE Network.
