John. J York, who portrays the character of Mac Scorpio on ‘General Hospital’, is taking an exit from the show. John joined the show in 1991 and has been an integral part of the storylines.
His current storyline will see a massive revelation soon, as he will learn that Cody is his biological son. However, the explosion will have to change due to his exit.

John J. recently took to his X (formerly Twitter) account to shares some updates with is followers. He shared with them the real reason for his exit from GH.
In the video he shared, he told his fans that he was diagnosed with two major health conditions in December, 2022. The GH star shared that he is suffering with blood and bone-marrow disorders, which might be cancer.
He also shared about his difficult journey since the diagnosis. ” I have had three bone marrow biopsies, many chemo treatments.” he said, and that he is due for another round in the coming weeks.
He also told his fans that he is closing in on a stem-cell transplant, and that he has been working with people at “Be the Match” in order to find a potential donor.
John J went on to urge his fans and followers to log on to bethematch.org/matchformac to check information on how to become a possible donor for him and other like him.
He also went on to thank all his fans and followers for all the love they have showered him with over the years. The GH actor also told his fans that he was not saying goodbye and he wills see them later, as he will need to take a break for at least three or four months.
He asserted that, ” But I’ll be back!” with an imitation of The Terminator. Fans and followers wish him quick recovery.
