Kevin Nash has ensured that his name will go down in professional wrestling. One of the most important wrestlers of the 1990’s, Nash was a top star in both WWF & WCW.
His time as Diesel in WWE would see him be the longest reigning World Champion the company had in the 1990’s – and his time in WCW saw him change the industry as part of the N.W.O. However, he will never deny the reasons why he reached the top of the industry – being tall and good looking.
Kevin Nash Doesn’t Deny His Looks Helped Him Get His Wrestling Success
While speaking on his Kliq This podcast – Nash would talk about his rapid rise in WWF, and that him being lean and clean after the drug trials was a huge reason why.
“My thing is this, I went from f—ing Oz to having the IC, Tag, and World Title in three years. Even though I was the lowest-drawing champion of all time or whatever people want to say about me, I still am the longest-reigning champion in the 1990s which includes the Attitude Era. I just happened to be the president during the depression. I wouldn’t change it. The reason I got everything I did … after the drug trials … I read someone say ‘You’re a good-looking giant dude — that’s why you got to where you got.’ No f—ing s–t! I was the biggest dude … I was lean and clean. That’s why I got pushed.”
It was Nash’s success in WWE that led to him getting one of the best contracts in professional wrestling as part of the WCW roster.
He would eventually return to WWE after the collapse of WCW, having numerous part time runs and being inducted into the Hall of Fame. His legacy will last forever due to his work – not bad for just being a ‘good looking giant dude’.
