Rhea Ripley has been having a career year, and her upward trajectory in WWE is becoming impossible to stop. She would win the Royal Rumble after starting the match – proving her stamina.
At WrestleMania 39, she would all but steal the show against Charlotte Flair – winning the then Smackdown Women’s Championship.
That belt would become the WWE Women’s World Championship during her reign – and with four successful defences, Ripley doesn’t intend to let it slip from her grasp. With 2023 coming to a close – she’s eyeing how to make 2024 even bigger – and has a WrestleMania match in mind.
The Man vs. Mami Is Rhea Ripley’s Ideal WrestleMania 40 Match
During an interview with India Today – Ripley would be asked for her ideal match at WrestleMania 40. Ripley had the following to say.
“I expect a huge challenge from the Man, Becky. She has definitely made her a name for herself in this company. She’s accomplished so much. She’s going down in history, as one of the best. And she will 110 percent be in the Hall of Fame one day. She really has made her own legacy. But like Becky, like Charlotte, like Sasha, like Bayley, like the Four horsewomen, they’ve all made a name for themselves. But at the end of the day, when you step in the ring with Mami, it’s a whole different sort of challenge. And if it were to be myself and Becky Lynch at WrestleMania 40, you know, I invite that challenge. Like you said, we went one on one in NXT. And it there was no clear winner because it was A DQ because Shayna, Jessamyn and Marina just had to come down and ruin that for me when I was on the stride of my life.”
This remains one of the biggest potential matches in the WWE Women’s division – alongside a rematch between Ripley & Bianca Belair, both matches being perfect for a show like WrestleMania 40.
