There are few names that were more respected within WWE than Dolph Ziggler. Joining the company in 2004, Ziggler would spend 19 years on the roster – winning the World Heavyweight, Intercontinental, United States, NXT, and Tag Team Championships.
In addition to this, he would hold the Money in the Bank briefcase. One man that respects Ziggler is The People’s Champion himself, The Rock.
The Rock Will Always Be A Dolph Ziggler Supporter
Hyping up the WWE resume of Dolph Ziggler – which contained 1,553 televised matches – The Rock would have the following to say on social media.
Just seeing all these releases now.
These days so f’n tough for the ones who gave their all to our crazy world of pro wrestling. Like Dolph Ziggler.
What a decorated WWE career and I’ll always be a supporter and fan. Can’t wait to see what he (and everyone) does next…
At 43 years old, Ziggler is still in his physical prime – and if his most recent WWE matches are any indication, he would be ready to jump right into the mix in any company in the world. His nickname of ‘The Showoff’ was well earned, often being the top performer on any given show, matching the likes of Daniel Bryan as needed.
Building Goodwill Outside Of WWE By Supporting Independent Wrestling
In addition to being respected within WWE, Ziggler is well loved beyond its walls. During the COVID-19 pandemic, when it was hard for independent wrestlers to find work due to widespread lockdowns, Ziggler would silently support talent by purchasing merchandise and used his Twitter account to promote stores.
It’s simple actions like that which show someone’s true nature – and builds goodwill. It would be hard to see a locker room not welcoming a veteran like Ziggler into the mix.
His next moves remain unclear, but his brother Ryan Nemeth is contracted to All Elite Wrestling – making this a potentially major December signing for AEW.
