Since his arrival in WWE, Austin Theory has been earmarked as one of the top names in the future of the company. Having the looks, in-ring skills and charisma – it was only a matter of getting Theory the experience he needed to thrive in the company.
This has included having Theory work with true legends of WWE. Theory has been wrestling John Cena at WrestleMania, feuding with Rey Mysterio, taking Stone Cold Stunners, and most recently – entering a promo battle with The Rock. This work with The Rock could define the rest of his career.
Booker T Feels The Rock Brought Out The Best In Austin Theory
While speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T would praise the former WWE United States Champion. He had the following to say.
“Austin Theory cut him off. That was beautiful. ‘It doesn’t matter.’ It was beautiful. I love Austin Theory also jumping on The Rock and just whooping his ass. I loved Austin Theory. Also jumping on the Rock and just whooping his ass for four punches. He’s selling like Elvis. Oh, my God. It was beautiful, man. What a good segment for Austin theory being in that position. The kid is coming up. Austin Theory, I’ve said it once. You might have heard me say it before about him, but he’s that guy that plays his role.
He’s not a guy that’s getting ahead of himself. He’s not a guy that’s reading his own press clippings, or believing in the hype, or what people were saying on the internet. This kid has got his head on his shoulders and he is truly the next generation of superstars in WWE and I just want to give him his props for being that kid and having his head on his shoulders the way he does.”
The interest generated by The Rock’s WWE return caused clips of this to go viral – putting many eyes on the potential future of WWE in the process.
It’s unclear if The Rock & Theory will have a match in the future. The Rock is locked into WWE right now – making this a possibility. Survivor Series 2023 would be the most likely date for this match.
