At WWE Payback 2023, John Cena would endorse LA Knight following his victory over The Miz. Now tonight, Knight will team with Cena as they face down Solo Sikoa & Jimmy Uso of The Bloodline.
Cena has been a familiar foe of The Bloodline – dating back to his battles with Rikishi, Umaga & The Rock, and tonight looks to earn another victory against them at WWE Fastlane.
John Cena Gets Isolated Away From LA Knight
Cena would start with Uso, running him down with a shoulder tackle. Sikoa would channel his uncle Umaga – and ran Cena down with a big uppercut.
Uso would keep the pressure on Cena, beating the legend down as the ring was cut in half. Cena would be hung in the Tree of Woe – and fight free when Uso rushed in – but was unable to complete the tag.
Cena would be dragged across the ring by Uso and slammed into the mat. Sikoa would hit the running hip attack in the corner, again channelling Umaga – and likely giving Cena flashbacks to 2007.
Uso would be hit with the Attitude Adjustment as Cena looked to fire up, but Knight would be driven off the apron before a tag could be completed.
Let’s Go Cena chants would pick up in the crowd as Sikoa would hold him in place – and even when dropped, Sikoa was between Cena & Knight. However, the determination of Cena would shine through – and Knight would get the much needed tag.
The Bloodline Suffers A Loss Ahead Of Roman Reigns Return
Knight would hit the ring with fire, dropping Sikoa with a DDT before taking a superkick from Uso. The Uso Splash would be avoided, and Knight hit the pop up powerslam quickly after.
Cena would come off the top rope with a crossbody splash, but was dropped by Uso. Knight would hit jabs to growing ‘Yeah’ chants – before being launched to the floor.
Cena would try for the Attitude Adjustment, but Uso stopped this with a superkick. Uso tried for the Uso Splash, but Knight would leap to the top rope and hit the Superplex instead.
Five Knuckle Shuffle from Cena would land, before Knight hit the BFT for the win. After the bell, Knight would raise the hand of Cena – returning the respect from Cena at Payback.
