Ladies and gentlemen, WWE Raw is in progress as we speak and as I type! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer as always here to give you the live coverage of the show as it transpire! The first match of the night just wrapped up at the time of publishing, and it was a rematch from last night’s Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019 event.
Of course we saw the WWE Raw Tag Team Champions, The Viking Raiders put their titles on the line in an open challenge this past Sunday, a challenge which was unsurprisingly answered by Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows of the OC. They fought to a double count out, much to the crowd’s dismay, before the heels got put through a KFC table. (It’s really better left out-of-context, that one…)
I figured this was done to set up an actual announced rematch later down the line but much against that notion, the rematch was done completely unannounced as the first match on tonight’s edition of Monday Night Raw instead. However, bizarrely, this time it was non-title.
You can see an excerpt of my recap of this match below:
“Let’s Go Raiders” chant as Erik tags back in, Ivar up top, but Gallows escapes Erik’s grasp, tag to Anderson who gets a hot shot in, driving european uppercut! Running big boot but Erik catches him out of the air for a spinebuster as Ivar blind tags in. Goes up top, Gallows tries to cut him off but gets taken off the apron. Erik stands… crowd rises as he spins around and treks all the way to the top rope! Moonsault, but Gallows pulls Anderson out of the air and he crashes and burns! Anderson with a running big boot takes Erik off the apron, Magic Killer and that is that!
Winners: The OC
It was a pretty good and surprisingly lengthy match, well over twenty minutes, three segments dedicated entirely to it. It felt so much like the definitive match between the two teams but nope, it was a non-title for the OC so we definitely have more to go.
