My name is Jordan Huie, The Overtimer is where I do my business, and that business – more often than not – revolves around giving you the live results of shows as they come. That show tonight was of course Monday Night Raw, and during that Raw, Seth Rollins and AOP continued their rampage, assaulting Rey Mysterio in a 3-on-1 attack! This beatdown came after Rey Mysterio gave some aid to Kevin Owens last week, handing him his trusty lead pipe to use against Rollins and the AOP.
Rollins considered it a matter of an eye-for-an-eye and a tooth for a tooth, despite saying that he was better than that. Rollins called himself a merciful leader, saying that Rey owed him one and pretended to leave, only to turn and plant him with a Curbstomp! Afterwards, Seth Rollins asserted that the only reason he didn’t leave Rey hospitalized is because he couldn’t well answer his challenge from a hospital bed. He then stated that he wants to establish dominance and therefore he’s going after the only male singles title on Raw that’s actually active at the moment.
In other words, he’s challenging Rey Mysterio for his WWE United States Championship next week.
And it wasn’t long before Rey responded, accepting his challenge. Therefore, on December 23rd, the second-to-last Monday Night Raw of the year, the match will indeed be happening, and is likely to be the main event. It should be noted that according to reports, Raw is taping two episodes tonight, as the talent will be allowed to have Christmas week off. So that match will have already happened within the next few hours. Keep this in mind, for if you’re trying to dodge – or find – spoilers! Judging by cagematch.net, it’s actually the first one-on-one match the two of them have ever had. In theory, it should be a great one.
