SNL star Chris Redd has revealed that he will not be addressing his co-star Pete Davidson’s ongoing feud with Kanye West.
SNL Star Chris Redd Will Not Be Making Jokes About Pete Davidson’s Feud With Kanye West-‘I Ain’t Got Nothing To Do With None Of This’
Pete and Kanye have been at loggerheads ever since the comedian decided to hook up with his ex Kim Kardashian. This resulted in the rapper firing a series of verbal shots via social media, as well as his controversial ‘Eazy’ music video in which Kanye was burying Pete alive.
But rather than siding with his co-star, Chris admitted that he would be refraining from making jokes about them.
During an interview on the SiriusXM’s The Jess Cagle Show, Chris said: “There is a serious layer to that situation that I just won’t make fun of. I’m not making fun of his mental health.
“You know, I have my mental health issues myself. So I’m very aware of those things. And I never come from that place of making fun of that.”
Chris’ comments are highly significant for the following reasons. First of all, they contradict the approach that Kanye has taken given that he is continuing to attack Pete, even though the latter has suffered from mental health issues in the past.
Secondly, it is also different to the approach taken by another SNL star, Bowen Yang, The former was very clear that he was behind Pete, even if he did not go on to call-out Kanye.
In a statement at the time, he remarked: “We are supporting him by giving him space. I think he’s just, you know, figuring it out.”
Regardless of whether or not you agree with what Chris has had to say, one thing for sure is that this feud needs to stop. It is only fostering more hatred between Kanye and Kim which is going to inadvertently destroy their children’s lives.
The sooner that this feud comes to an end, then the better it is for everybody involved. Chris’ following comments confirmed as much: “So I hope they figure that out soon. Cause I ain’t got nothing to do with none of this.”
