Rapper ‘The Game’ has defended Kanye West after the latter was banned from performing at the Grammy Awards 2022, as a result of his ‘concerning online behaviour.’
‘The Game’ Defends Kanye West Following His Ban From The Grammys-‘Speak Your Mind’
This news arises on the back end of Kanye’s 24-hour ban from Instagram after he had directed a racial slur towards talk show host Trevor Noah. Trevor had been very critical of the rapper’s conduct when it came to his ex Kim Kardashian.
And given that Trevor is going to be hosting the awards, there was a feeling that the organisers had no choice but to remove Kanye in case things did get out of hand.
A source said: “This is confirmed [Kanye banned]. Our sources say Kanye’s team isn’t surprised by the decision. [It was due to his] concerning online behavior.”
Nevertheless, The Game did not take that decision very well. He blasted the decision to have Kanye banned for the following reasons. First of all, The Game felt that this was not a surprise but had been clouded under the guise of an unforeseeable decision.
As such, Kanye was being treated unfairly behind the scenes on the basis of his views. Secondly, in any event, The Game was of the view that artists should not be canceled simply because they speak their mind.
Regardless of what you may think about what someone has said, the very fact of the matter is that freedom of speech is an important part of the United States.
In response to the decision, The Game stated: “Speak your mind in this country for yourself, family or your people & you’re ostracised immediately & if you push them hard enough they will stop at no ends to try and put an end to you as a whole.”
It is not clear where Kanye goes from here. With his ‘Donda 2’ album in the pipeline, he has missed out on the opportunity to get some extra publicity.
