For months now, fans have been awaiting the debut of Gable Steveson in WWE. The olympic gold medal wrestler was scouted by both WWE & UFC after his win in Tokyo, with WWE able to lock him down with a major money contract. Now, as he finishes up college – his WWE debut is perhaps just a few short weeks away.
Gable Steveson Is Ready For The Chaos Of WWE
Right now, Gable Steveson has been technically on the Monday Night RAW roster since the WWE Draft – but has yet to make his debut. While on the MMA Hour podcast, he’d reveal just what is coming up for him in WWE, and when fans can expect to see him.
“My exact start date is in the middle of April. They’re letting me finish school. They’re letting me do my thing.
Monday Night RAW will come really soon, or shortly after that, but I’m planning on getting on TV and getting in the ring on TV really, really soon after WrestleMania.”
In regards to being able to skip NXT and head right to Monday Night RAW – Steveson had the following to say.
“As of right now, I believe so. I think NXT is a great program. My brother is on NXT, so I love to watch it and tune in, and he’s doing a great job down there too.
I think the plan for me was to go to Monday Night RAW and start out there and just produce myself and be myself right there.”
Very few names have had a chance to skip NXT like this, with AJ Styles, Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, and Ronda Rousey just a few of the lucky names who didn’t have to spend time in NXT before hitting the main roster. Seeing as Steveson has won an olympic gold medal, it’s not hard to imagine why he’s gotten this chance.
