WWE SmackDown is underway as I type this, ladies and gents! I’m Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here, giving you the live results from the show as they come! SmackDown is an hour and a half deep and… well it hasn’t been the most eventful one, filler and stalling on the main event aside. It’s kinda what you expect from a show at this time of year though I suppose. Either way, it’s the last SmackDown of 2019 and therefore of the entire decade, and it’s almost over.
A tag match, pitting WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion Bayley and her long time ally Sasha Banks against Lacey Evans and Dana Brooke, just went down.
You can see an excerpt of my recap of this match below:
Sasha tags in, Meteora for a nearfall. Dana with an enziguri, simultags, Lacey is a house of fire, spinning neckbreaker on Bayley. Whip reversed, Lacey with a baseball slide to Sasha, takes Bayley down, springing elbow drop, springing bronco buster in the corner.
Lacey up top, salutes, hops and spins for the moonsault, Sasha has to break up the pin! Lacey stares her down, chases her out of the ring, Sasha runs around, into the ring to bait her into the Bayley-to-Belly, surprisingly Dana breaks up the pin! Sasha tags in, Lacey escapes a double suplex, tag to Dana, Sasha ducks a Woman’s Right and it hits Bayley, Dana rushes in and gets put into the Bank Statement for the submission.
Winners: Bayley & Sasha Banks
More or less what you’d expect. The power heel tandem of the WWE SmackDown women’s division continues to be powerful. Lacey Evans’ pursuit of Bayley’s title is coming along inch by inch it seems. She still has to deal with Sasha Banks after all and thus far, much as she’s succeeding in laying them out, she has yet to get a victory over either of them.
