The recent event of UFC 273 had everybody’s adrenaline rushing through their veins. It was exciting, unpredictable, brutal, and bloody – all the needed ingredients for a great show.
This started a blood lust in many fighters that are facing a fall in popularity in recent times. Many fighters had announced straightforward rivalry against others. If all pieces fit in the correct place we would have a great show at the next UFC event.
Two Fights That Must Happen After UFC 273
Find below two fights that might be a major adrenaline boost for all UFC fans. Connor McGregor vs Kamaru Usman
Kamaru Usman is currently the best pound-for-pound fighter in the UFC, as well as the champion of the welterweight division.
His professional record is 20-1-0, or 13-0-0 in the UFC. His fighting style is freestyle wrestling, making him a nightmare for Connors’ kind.
What makes Kamaru Usman different from other wrestlers is that most of his fights finish in KOs. Even if his wrestling style is inviolable he likes to finish a fight with style. And what better way than a knockout?
Connor, on the other hand, is a striker. We are aware of his aggressive style, and we are aware of his capabilities. However, when speaking of McGregor, his wrestling techniques are questionable. We all know how the fight went with Nurmagomedov ended. He got dominated, humiliated, and then finished by submission.
Would this be a déjà vu? Would the same happen if he fights Usman? There is only one way to find out! Alexander Volkanovski vs Charles Oliveira
The Great’ Macedonian is really confident in his abilities lately. A big boost to his confidence and credibility was the beating that he gave to the Korean Zombie at the UFC 273. Saying that there is no worthy opponent for him in the featherweight division, his loud mouth can drive him to two different scenarios.
The first outcome is that he will go a weight division higher and after winning he will join the double champion fighters like Daniel Cormier, Connor McGregor, or Henry Cejudo.
The second option is that he will be taught a lesson and would be bloodily pushed back to featherweight.
In the past, Volkanovski was a lightweight champion of the Wollongong Wars and Roshambo MMA, both Australian promotions, so he might know what it feels like to be lightweight.
Charles Oliveira is the guy that Volkanovski needs to fight if he wants to be a lightweight champion. Oliveira’s main fighting style is JiuJitsu and as such he can be a really tough nut to crack for Volkanovski.Oliveira’s grappling style is impeccable, his background in Muay Thai makes him an excellent striker as well, and over his career, he has 30 wins. 19 submissions! So yeah, Alex, to fight this beast you need to stay off the ground and on your feet.
Do we want this fight to happen? Definitely. This fight would be the main bout in the event. Even though this is only a what-if article these fights are plausible to happen in near future. We are witnessing a roll call for fighting through all social media from many fighters, including the above-mentioned.
