Last week on NXT 2.0, Bron Breakker was able to defend the NXT Championship in a hard fought match against GUNTHER. Afterwards, he’d be greeted by his father Rick Steiner… who was trapped in a cage. Joe Gacy & Harland are done waiting for chances in NXT, and have taken matters into their own hands.
Joe Gacy Sets The Hall of Fame Ring Of Rick Steiner Ablaze
If the intention was to get the attention of Bron Breakker – Joe Gacy succeeded. His father is home safe now, but Gacy will learn that you do not mess with family. Gacy was called down to the ring, but he wasn’t in the arena tonight.
Appearing on the screen, Gacy would explain that while beating down Rick Steiner – he took the Hall of Fame ring. All the work that Steiner put into this, all the miles travelled, missed birthdays, and hard fought matches were all represented in this ring – which Gacy casted into a fire.
Gacy will not get off easy given the track record of Breakker since his debut, but no one has tried mind games like this on the young champion. It could be what it takes for Breakker to be defeated again, making this reign even shorter than his first.
Von Wagner Runs Through Jacket Time
Von Wagner was supposed to fast KUSHIDA tonight, but he’d simply beat down Jacket Time on the way to the ring. However, a defiant Ikeman Jiro would hit the ring before going after Robert Stone. He’d call Wagner into the ring for a match, and would be run down with a lariat.
Wagner would hit some quick elbow drops, before a fallaway slam. Jiro would nail some leg kicks and shotei palm strikes, before hitting a knee strike to the face. Superkick would land, before Jiro came off the top rope with a Swanton Bomb for a near fall.
Robert Stone ran a distraction – allowing for Wagner to nail a big boot and slam for the victory. After the match, Wagner tossed Jiro from the ring and into the second row of fans.
