One of the fun thing about having so many pro wrestling companies up and running is we get to hear some fun back and forths whether it’s during their shows or on social media.
As fans, this only adds to the enjoyment as we get drawn into the friendly and not-so friendly rivalries. And with social media, we don’t have to tune in at a set time to watch some hijinks underway.
One feud that’s been going off an on for a couple of years is between the WWE’s Seth Rollins and New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW)’s Will Ospreay as they’ve traded jabs online since at least 2019.
Harmless fun
I mean if you wanna talk numbers we can compare bank accounts too.
P.S. That’s counting a month off with a broken back…👍🏼 buddy.
— Seth Rollins (@WWERollins) June 25, 2019
In 2019, Seth Rollins was at the top in the WWE and he let his feelings and thoughts about his greatness known on social media by claiming no one alive could do what he does in the ring.
This prompted a response from Ospreay in which he said he’s alive and the back and forth continued until Rollins offered to compare bank accounts.
That remark irritated fans, and then at a signing when he was asked about facing Kenny Omega and he replied he was game whenever Omega wanted to move to the big league (AEW to WWE).
Since then, Rollins has been more humble on social media and trash talking seemed to be over for the time being.
Stomp away

— Will Ospreay • ウィル・オスプレイ (@WillOspreay) April 17, 2022
At the recent New Japan Pro Wrestling’s pay-per-view Windy City Riot in Chicago Illinois, Jon Moxley and Ospreay faced off, and Mox pulled out Rollins’ finisher, the Stomp.
The move worked as well on Ospreay as it did on the Fiend, with Ospreay kicking out of the following pin attempt. After the event, Ospreay took a shot at Rollins on social media.
He shared a video segment of the match with a not so flattering caption.
To our knowledge, Rollins hasn’t responded yet as he may be a little tied up in helping put over the WWE’s newest addition Cody Rhodes.
But given the WWE’s stance on social media, he may not be allowed to say anything. At least, not on the same level as Ospreay’s comment.
As for then facing each other in a match to prove it, that seems highly doubtful as the WWE isn’t the most open to working with outside talent as it creates political issues between companies.
But one thing that’s constant in the business is we can’t ever say never. Anything can happen tomorrow.
