1000-Lb Best Friends star Vannessa Cross has worked hard at her weight-loss goal for bariatric surgery and now she’s at a safe enough weight for the procedure. Her goal was to drop under 400-pounds and she got just under that at 398-pounds. At her heaviest, Cross was in the 500-pounds range.
“1000-Lb Best Friends” Star Vannessa Cross Drops to 398-Lb and Can Undergo Bariatric Surgery
Cross has documented her progress on Instagram with photos that are from the chest up. Her weight loss is more evident once you get to the photos from earlier this year.
Vannessa’s weight loss journey hasn’t been an easy one as she battled to shed the pounds while in the mid-400s. At one point during the filming of 1000-Lb Best Friends, she dropped from 446-pounds to just under 430-pounds. Once at 427-pounds, Dr. Charles Procter felt as though 400-pounds was reachable.
However, Cross was crushed when she returned six months later and weighed in at 441-pounds. Even though she’d neglected the effective diet that got her to 427, she worked harder to drop the weight. On the Monday, March 21 episode of 1000-Lb Best Friends, she had dropped to 398-pounds.
Needless to say, Vannessa was excited because she could finally get bariatric surgery. It was a journey to get there—and there were setbacks—but she remained determined and managed to do it.
Cross first appeared with best friend Meghan Crumpler on Too Large. While Cross had setbacks in her weight-loss journey, Crumpler managed to drop around 40-pounds from 496-pounds by following Dr. Procter’s directions.
After undergoing the surgery, she lost rough 160-pounds and would become engaged to her boyfriend. You can check out her transformation via her Instagram.
