Yesterday was a sad day for WWE, as 10 names had left the NXT brand. Dakota Kai, Dexter Lumis and more were all released – but Malcolm Bivens left on his own terms. His time in WWE was coming to an end, and he made the choice to not renew his WWE contract. While he hit his stride in the company as the mouthpiece of Diamond Mine – he had a chance to make a splash on the WWE main roster as the manager of Omos.

Omos Had A Few Options For Managers, Including LA Knight & Malcolm Bivens

When it comes to Omos, it was always the plan to have someone alongside him to do the talking. At first this was AJ Styles, but following WrestleMania 38 – MVP has taken up the role as the manager of Omos. This was never clear to be the choice of manager for Omos.

A few months ago, the plan was for Malcolm Bivens to become the manager of Omos. However he would pass on the idea to stick with Diamond Mine in NXT until the end of his run with the company. Up until two weeks ago, he was the one to do the talking for The Creed Brothers & Ivy Nile in NXT. Roderick Strong has since taken the role of mouthpiece for the faction.

The contract of Bivens was set to expire in 2023, but he had made it clear that there was no plans to re-sign with the company. His release just sped things up, and allows Bivens to make his next moves in professional wrestling. Another idea for the manager of Omos came with LA Knight. Instead, Knight would be chosen to be the manager of MACE and Mansoor.

    MVP Was Chosen Instead

Instead, WWE had MVP turn on Bobby Lashley to instead align him with Omos. This puts an end to the Hurt Business once and for all, while also putting Lashley on the path to a face turn. They will clash in a rematch from WrestleMania 38. It’s one of many rematches on Backlash, with others including Edge vs. AJ Styles and Charlotte Flair vs. Ronda Rousey.

Do you think Bivens would have been a good fit for Omos? Let us know what you think in the comment section down below.

A wrestling fan practically since birth, who has been hooked since he got his first toy wrestling ring for Christmas as a child. Since getting access to the internet, he's watched more wrestling than he could ever remember from all around the world. It's hard to keep track of what happens in the wild world of professional wrestling, but he always tries to stay up to date. Note: No relation to Tully Blanchard of Four Horsemen fame (probably).
