Wardlow has been able to take down the first two hired guns of MJF. The Butcher & Lance Archer both fell to a series of vicious powerbombs – and now MJF is looking outside of AEW for the next attempt to end Wardlow. It’s someone seven feet tall, who has mixed it up with Shawn Spears, and is making their AEW debut.
W. Morrissey Makes His AEW Debut Against Wardlow
Wardlow hit the ring with no theme song, handcuffed, and with an ever growing band of security guards. MJF would say he’s claim he’s happy to be back in Maryland, but then he’s be a liar. He will watch the match from the back, as he’d call out his latest mercenary.
W. Morrissey in the house, and ready to show everyone just how far he’s come as part of the Impact Wrestlers roster. WWE fans might remember him as Big Cass, tag team partner of Enzo Amore. He’s bigger than both Butcher & Lance Archer, making this a challenge even for Wardlow.
They’d lock up in the middle of the ring, but Wardlow would slip away before Morrissey cornered him. Wardlow speared Morrissey into the corner, before some clubbing blows to the back took Wardlow down. Morrissey hit a running splash into the corner, before Wardlow went for a spear.
MJF Will Give Wardlow His Match
He’d leapfrog over Wardlow before hitting a big boot, sending his opponent tumbling to the floor. Morrissey would send Wardlow into the corner, before slamming him off the apron face first. Wardlow was slammed down with the Boss Man Slam, but Wardlow kicked out at two.
Morrissey would be caught by a flying Wardlow as he hit a moonsault off the top rope, and landed on his feet. Wardlow set up the powerbomb and was able to nail it – one and done. Morrissey looked impressive tonight, but Wardlow would beat down the security and kicked away the handcuffs after the bell.
Spears called for more, and Wardlow toppled them one by one. It doesn’t matter who MJF sends, he will defeat them all until MJF steps into the ring himself. MJF would pitch a match, with just a couple of conditions – which comes in a contract signing. But that will come in Long Island, New York – homefield for AEW.
Beating The Best In The World Would Be Some Cowboy Shit
At Double or Nothing 2022, we will see a main event of CM Punk vs. Hangman Page. Last week, we heard from CM Punk – who intends to give his all in the ring that night. Tonight, we get the thoughts of Hangman Page – who is fresh off kicking COVID-19’s ass.
When it comes to CM Punk, it’d be easy to say that Page looks up to and respects the man who calls himself the best in the world. But that’s not going to happen. At Double or Nothing, there will be no handshakes, no masterbuatory Bret Hart tribute match. Instead, he will tear CM Punk apart.
When he’s done with Punk, anyone with a shirt from Punk will be running for a refund at the merch stand. He’s not here tonight, Punk is off filming some TV show – but at Double or Nothing, will have the fight of his life. No more timid soft spoken Hangman Page, he’s fired up and ready to just prove himself as AEW World Heavyweight Champion.
