Jordan Huie of the Overtimer here and WWE Friday Night SmackDown just went off the air. The main event saw the return of the Usos, one of the top tag teams in the game today. Jimmy and Jey’s return match was the main event of the evening, and the two of them took on King Corbin and his favorite henchman, Dolph Ziggler. That match just concluded as I type this.
The Usos came back to help out Roman Reigns in his seemingly unending war with King Corbin and his cronies. He desperately needed the backup, after falling to a miserable disadvantage at WWE Tables, Ladders and Chairs 2019 which cost him a major match to the former constable. Hence the match here this evening.
You can see an excerpt of my recap of this match below:
Corbin with an elbow to the back of the head, back suplex but Jey flips out of it, gets the tag to Jimmy! Uppercuts, takes Corbin to the corner for the Corner Ten Punches! Evasion, ring-around-the-ringpost avoided this time, superkick! Jimmy up top but the Revival’s music hits for the distraction, allows Ziggler to pull Jimmy off the top rope and smash him into the barricade! Roman Reigns’ music hits however as we go to commercial.
We come back with a suicide dive attempt, but Corbin blocks Jimmy and throws him into Roman! Jey on the top rope wants a splash but Corbin stops him, posts him and throws him back into the ring! However, Reigns nails Corbin with a Spear and we finally have the DQ.
Winners: King Corbin & Dolph Ziggler (by DQ)
Yes, it turns out that they didn’t have the most succesful of returns. While they weren’t beaten, they didn’t manage to get a victory either, with the personal feud proving a bit too much for Roman to ignore. But that wasn’t all…
