Anderson Silva is one of the handpicked fighters that are in the close circle for fighting the YouTube star Jake Paul. The newbie fighter has some particular taste in former UFC fighters. He just can’t get enough of beating them in the ring.
Anderson ‘The Spider’ Silva on the other hand is a newbie in the boxing business as well. After he puts an end to his MMA career with his loss to Uriah Hall back in 2020 he turns to boxing. Silva had some boxing action in the United Arab Emirates just two weeks ago when he outpowered and outboxed Bruno Machado in an exhibition fight. The fight ends with no winner being proclaimed, however, the public agrees on one thing. If there would be a winner of the bout that would be Anderson Silva.
Jake Paul Will Get Destroyed In A Fight Between Him And Anderson Silva – Silva’s Trainer Warns The YouTuber
Jake Paul, as crazy as he and his statements can get, turns to social media right after Silva’s match and claims that he can win against both him and Mayweather. Moreover, he states that he can do that on the same day!
Luiz Carlos Dorea, who is the boxing trainer of the UFC star Silva, sees this as something funny and silly.
“You have to laugh, right? Have to laugh. Jake Paul is doing his part, which is to promote. It’s obvious there’s no way he can face Mayweather, one of the best boxers of all time, and Anderson, another legend. He never fought a striker.” – Dorea says for MMA Fighting magazine.
Jake Paul has a record of 5-0-0 for now and is aiming to have his next fight in August this year. He has four knockout finishes and is looking to continue the streak. Silva, Conor McGregor, Jorge Masvidal, and Nate Diaz, are some of the UFC fighters that he called out until now.
“If he’s considering an official fight with Silva, I think he will pay dearly. In promoting, it’s all valid. He’s doing his part, using his tongue, but you can’t use your tongue inside the ring. You have to use your fists, and it’s a whole other story. Anderson is far better,” – Dorea says.
“Anderson has always trained boxing when he was fighting MMA. He is always a striker with good boxing and Muay Thai. Now, almost two years later and the three boxing matches we did, and training boxing specifically for this, Anderson is evolving a lot. He’s more confident in his movement and defense. He had great boxing for an MMA fighter and is putting on a show now. His level is so high.” – Silva’s trainer adds.
And we ought to believe him. Even though Jake Paul is much younger than Silva, that doesn’t mean much in a boxing match. What matters is the experience and the strength and durability that the fighter has. While we cannot argue for Paul’s strength and durability, we can say that he is much less experienced than Silva. And that is where the catch might be. Silva is in the fighting sport since 1997. These 25 years of fighting experience have taught him to be careful, powerful, and precise.
Do you think that Jake Paul has an advantage over Silva only because he is younger than him? Does he have the skill to beat the Spider?
