Seth Rollins is becoming cooler and cooler again by the day. Ever since he was able to embrace the negative attention that fans have given him, he has been on the rise once again. Now one half of the WWE RAW Tag Team Champions, his 2020 is off to a good start. He has also just revealed that he has done this all with a minor injury that has been hiding in plain sight.
Seth Rollins Has A Broken Finger
About six weeks ago, Seth Rollins at some point had broken one of his fingers. He revealed this in an interview for San-Antonio Express-News.
“It’s a happy accident. I will say that I broke my finger about six weeks ago and I have to wear a splint when I wrestle, and so I have to wear a glove over the top of the splint to keep it from moving when I’m wrestling. Obviously, I could have taken six weeks off and not wrestled at all, but that’s not really what I do. So, the alternative was trying to tape it, but tape didn’t seem to keep it on very well. So, I just put a glove over top of it to keep it down. And, and I like it, and it’s weird and so it is one of the things that people they say, ‘Why is he wearing one glove?’ The fact that you’re asking me this question means that it’s doing its job. I think we will stick with it and see what the glove becomes over time.”
You can’t deny that the single glove look is absolutely eye catching. It draws attention to Rollins and adds intrigue. It is just one of those little touches that add to a character in a way that is hard to explain.
Working While Injured, Is This Good Or Bad?
It is also impressive that he chose to work through the injury. With him the mastermind behind a new faction, he could have sat back and let Authors Of Pain do all the work for a few weeks but instead he was out there in the ring like nothing happened. It is stuff like that which puts Seth Rollins on top of WWE in the eyes of someone like Vince McMahon. On the other hand, this type of culture is not a safe one to have anyone be promoting. Obviously the injury was fairly minor and he was cleared to compete, but talent forcing themselves to compete when unwell is becoming far too common within professional wrestling. You’ll hear stories of people working shows with injuries or the flu and that not only endangers them, but the people they work with. It is something that should be cracked down on by the people with the power to do so.
